To promote sustainable development, the President of NTHU appoints a university-level Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), who chairs the Sustainable Development Committee. The Resilient and Sustainable Development Center was established as the Office for Sustainable Development and Social Practice to advance NTHU's sustainability and social practice initiatives.
As the office responsible for sustainable development, USR and net-zero emissions, the Center holds weekly meetings and reports its progress to the Sustainable Development Committee every two months. All presentation materials are archived and distributed to the university CSO and the CSOs of all first-level units. In addition to internal reporting, the Center publishes the NTHU Sustainable Development Annual Report and continues to participate in national sustainability and USR awards such as TCSA, TSAA, Global Views USR Award and CommonWealth Magazine Awards, receiving wide recognition.
The university has one President, who takes complete charge of university affairs and represents the university, and four Senior Vice Presidents who assist the President in managing university affairs.

The university also operates the Affiliated Experimental Elementary School.
NTHU has established the Sustainable Development Committee, chaired by the university's Chief Sustainability Officer. The committee consists of 25 members from all colleges and first-level administrative units — usually faculty members or administrative heads who also serve as the CSO of their college or unit. The committee meets every two months to discuss the university's sustainable development programs and helps implement sustainability policies across all colleges and administrative units.
NTHU established the Resilient and Sustainable Development Center to plan and implement strategies for sustainable development, social practice and net-zero emissions. Its work includes planning and coordinating campus sustainability activities, editing the Sustainable Development Annual Report, participating in domestic and international rankings, promoting the sustainable campus living laboratory, organizing student sustainability ambassadors, managing social practice (USR) programs, promoting the Program of Urban-Rural Revitalization Education (PURRE), publishing regional newsletters, conducting campus carbon inventories, and planning the NTHU Net Zero by 2050 roadmap.
