In response to the environmental, health, economic, social, and other issues arising from thousands of years of human development, the College of Life Sciences and Medicine has an undeniable responsibility. It will continue to cultivate scientists and healthcare professionals in the biomedical field, seeking scientific solutions and strategies to address global challenges. Additionally, it will actively engage in social affairs, collaborating with governments, non-profit organizations, and communities to promote innovative research in the sustainable development of health, environment, education, and other fields.
LSCOCSO ⎯ Perng, Ming-Der
Life is perpetual and timeless, "the meaning of life is to create the life that the universe succeeds; the purpose of life is to enhance the life of all human beings". Let us fulfill our responsibilities as a citizen of the earth, arouse our own enthusiasm, encourage our own confidence, practice by ourselves, set specific goals, and pursue the vision of tolerance and sharing. Sustainable development issues, such as global climate change and loss of biodiversity are threatening all of us now. Let us learn to maintain a proper interactive relationship with the environment, learn to communicate humbly with nature, and establish an ecological environment of harmonious coexistence. The teachers and students from the school of Life Sciences of Tsinghua University have a mission and responsibility for the sustainable life sciences. We are actively learning and practicing in academic research, teaching courses, social services, caring for the earth and other topics related to sustainable development.
