In order to facilitate the exchange and interaction between NTHU Student Ambassador for Sustainability and CSOs (Chief Sustainability Officers) in the 111th academic year, and to facilitate the integration of relevant sustainability initiatives and project implementation details, we aim to organize a midterm proposal exchange session between NTHU Student Ambassadors for Sustainability to assist each unit (faculty and administrative departments) in taking stock of and exchanging the current status of sustainability with their student ambassadors, so as to facilitate the discussion of sustainability-related proposals between student ambassadors and CSOs of each unit. Through this event, we create channels and opportunities for student sustainability ambassadors and sustainability leaders to exchange ideas and ideas.
The event opened with a speech by Professor Lin Furen, Vice CSO of National Tsing Hua University and CSO of Tsinghua College. Professor Lin said that he hoped that the "NTHU Student Ambassador for Sustainability" system, the first of its kind in Taiwan, would open up new opportunities for sustainability at NTHU, turning campus sustainability from a top-down, one-way implementation to a two-way communication and joint implementation. Professor Lin also hopes that the Student Ambassador for Sustainability will create a network for learning together, forming a "sustainability salon" with regular time slots and locations where the student ambassadors and interested students can participate together and enjoy a space to discuss and share sustainability issues. This is the first year that the Student Ambassador for Sustainability will be held, and we invite everyone to join us in looking forward to even more exciting developments in the future.
Next, Student Ambassadors for Sustainability from the College of Science, College of Nuclear Sciences, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Life Sciences, College of Education, College of Arts, and Tsinghua College presented their midterm proposals in order to learn about each other's progress, topics, and potential collaboration through preliminary ideas. After each college's presentation, the CSOs of that college were invited to share feedback and discuss with the student ambassadors a clearer direction for the proposal and the college's sustainability vision.
