NTHU Sustainability Student Ambassador


Recruitment period: 9/5(Mon) ~ 9/21(Wed)

Term of office of a Sustainability Student Ambassador: One year is the principle, and the academic year is the beginning and end of the term.


The Responsibilities and Practices of Sustainability Student Ambassador

Responsibilities

Initiatives: Willingness to take the initiative to identify problems and actively seek solutions or initiate actions to assist various units (college and administrative departments) in promoting sustainable development.

Impact: Positive Impact. The individual's power to promote ideas to the public and to facilitate tri-partite collaboration among faculty, administration and students to promote sustainability issues.

Inclusion: Diversity and Inclusion. We focus on different aspects of content, combine our own backgrounds and support sustainable development issues through cross-disciplinary cooperation, and practice our strengths and speak out for sustainability.

Practice:

Basic concepts and knowledge of sustainability: Awareness of sustainability is not limited to climate change or global warming, but must be closely related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Be willing to take concrete actions to implement the concept of sustainability. The specific actions are not limited to originality but can be integrated and improved by using the existing projects and methods of others.

be willing to use their influence to drive sustainability: Sustainability ambassadors must be willing to use their influence to promote sustainability-related issues, whether through interpersonal or social media posts or videos in the school setting.

Be willing to use resources from all units to promote sustainability: Ambassadors are expected to use resources from their units (faculty, curriculum, or partnership opportunities) to promote sustainability.

Symbolic and Representative: Ambassadors are required to wear the "Ambassador Medal" when they attend various events as ambassadors to show their special symbolism and representativeness.

Working Rights and Rewards

Monthly work study fee: The amount of work study fee is set by each unit and the cost is provided by each unit. Each unit provides each sustainability ambassador with actual project funding for each semester, and the proposal is reviewed by the sustainability director of the unit to which the sustainability ambassador belongs. The funding amount is set by each unit and the source is provided by each unit. Please refer to "Appendix 1, NTHU Sustainability Student Ambassador Proposal Form" for the proposal format. Please refer to "Attachment 2: Project Funding Details" for project funding notification.

Priority will be given to participating in internal training organized by the school or each unit, including but not limited to: the current status of NTHU's sustainable development, teamwork tools, corporate visits, inter-school exchanges, etc.
