The #iGEM International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition, organized by MIT, brought together 356 teams from around the world to compete in this year's competition, and 11 teams from Taiwan participated.

Our iGEM team, IGEM NTHU Taiwan, has proposed a safer and more affordable treatment for pneumonia A and acne by combining the antibacterial peptide complex and micro-needle patch technology, which earned recognition from the judges.

Team leader Hong Ke Chi said that due to the epidemic, IGEM NTHU Taiwan was unable to compete abroad for the past two years. This year's team consists of members from different disciplines, biotechnology, materials, information technology expertise, and cross-disciplinary cooperation, their teamwork makes it possible to win the iGEM competition gold medal.
