(CNA reporter Lu Gang-Jun, Hsinchu City, May 14) The Materials Science Department of National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) and the Department of Textile and Apparel at Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU) collaborated to host a fashion show today at NTHU. Models from FJU showcased outfits inspired by the theme "Kaleidoscope," paired with anti-blue light glasses, blending technology with fashion through the runway presentation.
Professor Zhou Zhuo-Hui, a distinguished professor at NTHU who facilitated the collaborative event, shared in a media interview that materials are not only used in semiconductors but can also be applied to innovate fashion. This cross-university and cross-departmental collaboration aims to challenge the mindset of engineering students and broaden their horizons.
Professor Zhou further explained that he led NTHU’s "Good Light Team" to invite FJU’s faculty and students to collaborate on this runway show, which featured AI-generated music. The goal was to allow the audience to experience how anti-blue light prevention can be integrated with fashion and music to showcase style.
Assistant Professor Lin Yi-Tzu of FJU’s Department of Textile and Apparel noted that integrating anti-blue light technology into fashion through this collaboration with NTHU was a new challenge. FJU’s Department of Textile and Apparel plans to participate in an international fashion week event and hopes to have the opportunity to showcase NTHU’s Good Light Team’s anti-blue light glasses during the performance.
