Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
We conducted ecological surveys in the campus land, containing the composition of biomass in water and land areas and analysis of naturalness, since the beginning of the development of the south campus in 2005. To reduce the negative impact on the natural environment, we strictly obeyed commitment of Environmental Impact Assessment and executed the environmental protection methods of all aspects.
Results/Contributions
In part of air quality, TSP(concentration of total suspended particulates) has been 86.1μg/m3 (average in 2005-2009) since the beginning of development, and could still maintained 47μg/m3 in 2020, because the school actively protected the vegetation in the base, and carried out the transplantation of old trees to reduce the dust in the area. In part of water quality, SS(concentration of suspended solids) has been 12.8mg/L(average in 2010) since the beginning of development, and could still maintained 11.5mg/L in 2020, among them, multiple monitoring values were less than 2.5 mg/L, due to strengthening the control of non-point source pollution in construction sites.
