Abstract/Objectives
This course emphasizes several information literacy topics: intellectual property, personal privacy, freedom of speech, cybercrime, information security, IoT, big data analysis, and computational thinking. Meanwhile, some information ethics issues for students using network devices are aimed. Examples in the real world are illustrated during this course, enhancing students learning the informational skills and knowledge to become competent and honest citizens on the Internet.
Results/Contributions
This course brings the introduction and practical operation of information technologies to improve students' capabilities of modern information literacy. The information ethics issues are derived from relevant literature and cases that guide students in establishing the correct concept of using the Internet.
Students have to complete several exercises in this course: distinguishing the information and misinformation of social networks; creating a blog using WordPress or Wixsite on the cloud; using Powerbi for visual analysis of big data; finding the hot spot of car accidents in Taiwan with AI, and programming with blocks for computational thinking projects at the end of this course.
