Abstract/Objectives

The Graduate Institute of Foreign Languages and Literature is divided into two major academic tracks: the Foreign Literature Track and the Language Studies and Teaching Track. At the end of each semester, both tracks hold master's thesis presentation sessions, during which graduating master's students are invited to present their research findings. Attended by faculty members and students of the department, these events not only provide graduate students with a formal platform to present their work, but also offer senior undergraduate students enrolled in graduate-level courses an early opportunity to experience the atmosphere of academic presentations and gain first-hand exposure to the experience of participating in an international academic conference.

The Graduate Institute of Foreign Languages and Literature, Language Research and Teaching Track, held the 2025 Master's Thesis Presentation Session on June 9, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in HSS C310. During the event, three master’s students presented their research findings on gender-inclusive representations in Taiwanese high school English textbooks, the processing mechanisms involved in the interpretation of non-coargument pronouns in L2 English, and the academic and language investment of Taiwanese double-majored students in English departments. Attended by faculty members and students, the event provided graduate students with a formal platform for thesis presentation while fostering academic exchange and discussion within the department. Through this presentation session, students gained valuable experience in academic presentation, strengthened their research communication skills, and developed a deeper understanding of issues related to language research and teaching.
