As a result of the renovation by the city government, the Greeegrass Lake and its surroundings became an appealing spot for local residents. The city government and nearby communities hope such an effort enable this lake to revitalize this area. This project led by three faculties, Dr. HUANG, Yu, CHAO, Chi-Liang, and NI, Ching-chen, aimed to collect and analyze a lot of information related to this Lake. The first initiative of this team identified four major themes for this Lake from the aspects of leisure/tourism, including historical stories, ecological features, aquatic recreational activities, and road recreational activities. This team organized a press conference to deliver the value of the Greengrass Lake from the four aspects which did receive the media attention. The course of the sustainable sport tourism was very first one in local higher educational institutions. Dr. HUANG and Dr. NI taught together and led students to create mini-tour initiatives for this lake. In the end, four tour packages were developed: natural adventure, hunt for love, SUP ironman and battle back to the future. More importantly, each package was created specifically to a niche market.
