Abstract/Objectives
This course aims to enhance pre-service elementary school teachers' knowledge in curriculum design and bilingual subject teaching in the field of science. The course not only explores theories, models, and strategies related to science curriculum and contemporary science teaching but also emphasizes the integration of theory, research, and practice to improve teaching competencies. Students will learn how to apply various teaching strategies, particularly bilingual teaching methods, to address current educational needs. The course also focuses on the development of professional teaching skills, helping students build core competencies in science education and fostering innovative teaching thinking, preparing them for their future teaching careers. Ultimately, the course aims to equip students to become excellent teachers with a strong foundation in both theory and practice.
Results/Contributions

This course enhanced pre-service elementary school teachers' curriculum design and bilingual teaching abilities in the field of science. Students not only mastered contemporary science teaching theories and strategies but also learned how to integrate theory and practice in their teaching. The course particularly emphasized the practical application of bilingual teaching methods, helping students understand how to conduct science instruction in different language environments. Students' teaching competencies and innovative thinking were significantly improved, preparing them well for their future teaching careers. Ultimately, the course outcomes show that students not only gained professional knowledge in science education but also developed the ability to flexibly apply various teaching strategies, becoming teachers with excellent teaching skills.
