To help incoming students of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature in 2025 adapt smoothly to university life, understand the department’s curriculum planning and diverse learning resources, and broaden their imagination of future career possibilities, the department organized a Freshman Orientation Forum and invited two distinguished alumnae to return and share their career experiences. The program included opening remarks by the department chair, an introduction to curriculum and graduation planning, career-sharing sessions by alumnae, and experience-sharing by senior students. These activities helped freshmen build an early understanding of the department while fostering a sense of belonging and anticipation. Through this event, students strengthened their identification with the department, became more familiar with their peers, and developed greater class cohesion. They also gained a better understanding of curriculum planning, interdisciplinary resources, and future development paths. The sharing by senior students and alumnae further enhanced freshmen’s expectations for university life and confidence in their future career possibilities.
