Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
"The SMART project is based on Science (S) and Maker Crafts (M), integrating humanities and arts to 'intelligently activate' service domains. This project combines technology and maker crafts, focusing on Hengshan Township, Hsinchu County, as the service area. It offers six distinctive social service courses to support local rural education and leisure agriculture. The research objective is to establish a social service platform for intergenerational learning, co-creation, and mutual appreciation, promoting educational and agricultural creative services in rural areas. The aim is to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of reducing inequality, providing quality education, fostering industrial innovation, and enhancing infrastructure. Furthermore, it integrates University Social Responsibility (USR) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to expand the promotion of social services."
Results/Contributions

The execution strategy of the research project includes: Optimizing the promotion of "STEM Innovation Education with A" at Shakheng Elementary School in the early stage. Completing the revitalization of the Daxiandai Cultural and Creative Tourist Spot in Hengshan Township, Hsinchu. The main completed tasks include:

1. Complete the optimization of STEAM innovation education at Shakeng Elementary School. Lead Shakeng Elementary School to participate in the largest maker carnival event in Taiwan, Maker Faire Taipei, showcasing the determination and dedication of Shaeng in STEAM innovation education to the outside world. This also allows children to build courage and broaden their horizons during the event.

2.Completing the alignment of Little Ding-Dong Science Theme Park with international STEAM education, cultivating seed teachers, and establishing the "STEM with A" mobile classroom (bus). We serve together disadvantaged and rural schools, shouldering the social service responsibility of USR + CSR.

3. Completing the establishment of the "Farm Plant Ecology Knowledge Trail" at Lao-Da-Fen Leisure Farm. Tsing Hua students guide rural elementary school children to participate in ecological learning through the trail in a "Big Hand Holding Little Hand" manner. Learning while walking, guided by nature. It attracts the return of the second generation of farmers to participate. With corporate sponsorship, the "USR + CSR" initiative expands free services to rural schools. We aim to provide a revitalizing opportunity for traditional but struggling farms in rural areas.

4.Completing the organization of the "Agricultural Leisure and Cultural Innovation: Skipping School to the Mountains - Science and Art Ecological Exhibition, Maker Workshop" to revitalize mountain coffee entrepreneurship through value-added initiatives.

5. Completing the organization of the "Agricultural Leisure and Cultural Innovation: Hengshan Pottery Memories - Expressing Emotions through Scenery, Sculpting Dreams with Clay" exhibition. We pioneered the concept of a "wall-less art gallery" to revitalize entrepreneurial value in Big-Hill North-Moon.
