Abstract/Objectives
This is an advanced level, paper discussion based course. It is designed for graduate students who are interested in studying mitochondrial related topics. The course aims to provide students with the advanced knowledge of genetics and pathophysiology of mitochondria. The up-to-date research topics and literature in this field will also be covered. Students who have knowledge of cell biology, molecular biology and genetics are preferred.
Results/Contributions
1. Most students enrolled in this course will be engaged in biomedical research or product development in the biotechnology industry after graduation. After completion of this course training, we expect that these future professionals will be able to apply the mitochondria-related knowledge acquired in revealing the disease-causing mechanisms and new drug development in order to improve the health and well-being of humankind.
2.A total of 16 students completed the course in 2018-2020.
