Abstract/Objectives

The “Badminton and Robotics Charity Summer Camp” is organized by UXGroup Technology Corporation in collaboration with the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) Badminton Team, and is held at Wujie Junior High School in Yilan County. The camp brings together 65 students from Wujie Junior High School, along with approximately 15 students from economically disadvantaged and underprivileged families. Through an innovative integration of sports and technology, the program aims to create an engaging learning environment that inspires students’ curiosity toward badminton and science. The camp initiative has been strongly supported by Mr. Wang Chao-Liang, Chairman of UXGroup Technology, and marks the third consecutive year of collaboration with the NTHU Badminton Team. Chairman Wang emphasized that, in addition to his passion for sports, the company hopes to fulfill its corporate social responsibility (CSR) by providing children with limited resources access to professional sports instruction and diverse learning opportunities. The badminton training sessions are led by Olympian Jen-Hao Hsu, who guides members of the NTHU Badminton Team in coaching and mentoring the participants. Through structured instruction and interactive activities, the program encourages students to discover their interest and enthusiasm for badminton while nurturing the next generation of badminton talent. In addition to sports training, the camp also features technology experience courses. These sessions are designed by the DIT Robotics Team of National Tsing Hua University, a group that has long been supported by UXGroup Technology. The activities are personally led by Distinguished Professor Rong-Shun Chen, providing students with hands-on opportunities to explore robotics technology and innovative thinking. Through practical learning and experimentation, participants are encouraged to expand their technological perspectives and develop creativity and problem-solving abilities. The successful organization of this camp was made possible through the generous support of several partners. iFly Cultural and Creative Co., Ltd. assisted in the design and planning of the camp program, while Mizuno Taiwan Ltd. donated badminton rackets and gifts, ensuring that students from disadvantaged backgrounds could participate without financial concerns. Additional support was provided by the Office of Physical Education at National Tsing Hua University, Mr. Yang Wen-Fang, Chairman of Augeni Co., Ltd., and Fuyuhong Development Co., Ltd., whose contributions helped bring this interdisciplinary initiative—combining sports, technology, and public welfare—to fruition. The opening ceremony welcomed numerous distinguished guests, including Mr. Liu Hsing-Yi, General Manager of UXGroup Technology; Mr. Chen Ji-Yuan, Board Director; Mr. Yang Wen-Fang, Chairman of Augeni Co., Ltd.; administrators from Wujie Junior High School; Mr. Huang Chun-Kai, Special Assistant of Fuyuhong Development Co., Ltd.; and Distinguished Professor Rong-Shun Chen from NTHU. Their presence highlighted the strong collaborative effort behind this meaningful summer charity program. UXGroup Technology expressed its commitment to continue partnering with academic institutions to organize impactful public welfare initiatives. Through these efforts, the company aims to support disadvantaged communities, strengthen its dedication to corporate social responsibility, and contribute positive value to society.

Results/Contributions

The Badminton and Robotics Charity Summer Camp attracted approximately 80 student participants, including 65 students from Wujie Junior High School and about 15 students from economically disadvantaged families. Through the camp activities, students learned fundamental badminton skills and sports knowledge while also experiencing introductory robotics and technology applications.

In the badminton training sessions, students improved their basic athletic abilities and motivation to participate in sports through structured instruction and practical training. The program also helped cultivate students’ interest in badminton and encouraged active engagement in physical activity.

In the technology sessions, students participated in hands-on robotics activities and collaborative learning tasks. These experiences introduced them to fundamental robotics concepts and problem-solving skills while encouraging curiosity toward science and technology.

Furthermore, the program strengthened collaboration among industry, academia, and local schools, demonstrating the positive impact of corporate social responsibility initiatives. By integrating sports and technology education within a charitable framework, the project provided students with meaningful learning experiences and served as a model for interdisciplinary educational programs.
