Abstract/Objectives
本學期主題為地理標示（Geographical Indications）。地理標示是目前區域貿易協定及自由貿易協定涉及的智慧財 產權談判議題中，所佔比例最高的類型，但與專利、著作權的研究成果相比，台灣的研究討論卻不多。本課程認為地理 標示以一定區域的風土為特色，注重該地的自然因素及人文因素，使當地居民有經濟誘因，維持該地風貌及在地知識， 以維持地方品牌的評價，因此可能可以促進環境保護、生物多樣性及傳統知識保護。比較歐盟及日本活用地理標示，可 以看出台灣還有很多發展空間。 本課程以地理標示在國際談判的地位、及國外的案例論討論為主。歡迎有基礎智財權概念的各領域同學選修。
Results/Contributions
Reading materials cover the case studies of France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and China. At the end of the semester, the students have presented local cases in Taiwan, including Sanxia Blue Dye, Beitou Hot Spring Flower, Tribal millet wine, Taiwanese tea, Xihu mutton, to consider if GIs can be a tool to promote regional development and maintain biodiversity.
