Abstract/Objectives
The Mlyňany Botanical Garden of the Slovak Academy of Sciences manages the largest collection of non-native trees and shrubs in Slovakia, which happens to be one of the richest collections of tree species in Central Europe. In 1953, the introduction of non-native species as far as possible was carried out under the planning of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, especially the expansion of the work on the introduction of evergreen trees in this botanical garden. Many tree species were introduced in this context, including those from China and North Korea. Taiwan is a small and densely populated country, and there is no botanical garden as large as the Mlyňany Botanical Garden. However, the Mlyňany Botanical Garden's efforts in environmental planning, environmental education and business models can be worthy of reference by the Taipei Botanical Garden. After this internship, I will be able to bring these experiences back to Taiwan and try to use it as a reference for the management of botanical gardens in Taiwan.
