Abstract/Objectives
At the end of 2023, in the lobby in front of the Humanities and Social Sciences Library, Prof. Wei-Tien Dylan Tsai invited the Dadaocheng Theater culture and art workshop of the Department of Cultural Affairs Taipei City Government and the students from the Ancient and Modern Poetry Chanting Class to hold a grand poetry recital together. It was such an amazing event that they recited and chanted various poems and folk songs together, which was truly a feast for the ears.

Since Prof. Wei-Tien Dylan Tsai offered the Ancient and Modern Poetry Chanting course in 2017, our public recitals have already been held seven times. This year, we are collaborating with other chanting teams to prepare for the poetry recital. Through the Ancient and Modern Poetry Chanting course, Prof. Tsai leads students to understand the deep emotions and meanings conveyed by poets and teaches them to recite and chant by using different vocal techniques, chanting skills, and beautiful voices. It is a great opportunity for students to review what they've learned throughout the semester and build their confidence and performance by reciting on the stage. They can also learn from the vocal techniques and chanting skills of the Dadaocheng Theater culture and art workshop members.
