Abstract/Objectives
This course aims to show relationships between technoscience and culture/ society by analyzing actual cases. Emphasizing that the development of technoscience is shaped by sociocultural factors such as politics and gender, this course invites students to think beyond the common-sensical ideas that science is objective and that technology shapes society, and to imagine what relationships between technoscience and society is desirable.
Results/Contributions
Students investigates relationships between stakeholders and actual technoscience systems located in Hsinchu city or within campus, analyzes causes behind them and propose possible measures for improvements if any in the final group reports.
