Abstract/Objectives
The "Literary Walking In Hsinchu" project, which is a collaboration between our school, VisEra Technologies Company, and local groups, has completed the planning and investigation of the first phase of 5 routes. On June 23, 2025, the second phase of 5 new routes was announced, inviting the public to travel light to Hsinchu's urban and rural areas, accompanied by literature and surrounded by beautiful scenery, and appreciate the scenery of Greater Hsinchu.
Results/Contributions

Supported by VisEra Technologies and in collaboration with National Tsing Hua University, the first phase of the Literary Walking in Hsinchu Project—initiated by five local Hsinchu organizations—has been successfully planned and constructed. The signing ceremony for the project took place on August 8, 2024, and over the course of the following eight months, five walking routes were developed through joint efforts.

At the same time, VisEra Technologies, Nuvoton Technology, JPC Connectivity, Zyxel Group, Syntec Technology, and the Hsinchu City Bureau of Cultural Affairs are collectively supporting the second phase, which will feature another five walking routes and is about to launch.

The first phase results presentation and second phase signing ceremony were held on June 23, 2025, with the theme of a "Hakka Living Settlement" exhibition area, showcasing both first and second phase routes to facilitate experience sharing among attending guests.

Based on the five completed walking routes, the Literary Walking in Hsinchu Project aims to develop 30 literary walking routes across 16 townships, towns, and districts in the Greater Hsinchu area over the next four years. Each route not only offers beautiful scenery but also carries captivating local stories. It is our hope that these 30 routes and 30 local narratives will be widely shared, and that Hsinchu’s natural beauty, rich produce, and iconic items—such as meatballs, rice noodles, and semiconductors—will all become symbolic representations of Hsinchu's global identity.

This project serves as a practical example of National Tsing Hua University’s tripartite collaboration platform, demonstrating the university’s expertise in key social topics and its industry-academia network. By aligning with local government policies and integrating ESG resources from science park enterprises, the initiative contributes to the sustainable development of Greater Hsinchu.

Furthermore, by combining the networks of local sustainability and industrial development in science parks, the project integrates them into the broader ESG framework of the park, creating a new vision for Tsing Hua’s talent cultivation. It helps broaden students' career pathways while encouraging in-depth exploration of the humanities and social sciences and their contemporary value and impact within society and industry.
