Results/Contributions

Our school is dedicated to enhancing public art and cultural atmosphere, integrating various on-campus art and cultural venues. Through collaboration among the College of Arts, the Departments of Art and Design, Music, the Bachelor’s Degree Program, and the Graduate Institute of Art and Technology, we organize a variety of arts and cultural exhibitions and performances.

A major highlight of 2023 was the "Imperial Examination" special exhibition, held in collaboration with Taiwan's first Jinshi family, the "Zheng Clan Ancestral Hall." This exhibition encouraged the public to rediscover the artifacts of the imperial examination system, understand the cultural significance of this traditional institution in Chinese society, and reflect on the impact of such a system on the nation, society, and individuals. With over 50 performances and exhibitions open to the public, the content includes:

  1. Artist Collaboration Projects: In partnership with local Taiwanese artists, we hosted talks, developed art-related workshops, and invited foreign artists for on-campus residencies to lead creative art workshops. These events, totaling 12 sessions, encouraged community engagement and aimed to elevate aesthetic appreciation.
  2. Collaboration with Local Art Institutions: We organized art activities in cooperation with local art institutions to strengthen community engagement with the university’s art museum and enhance its influence on the public. This series included 18 events.
  3. Public and Free Events by the Heritage Museum: Each special exhibition included one or two open, free events, such as guest lectures, historical tours, or hands-on workshops, allowing the public to learn more about local history and museum-related knowledge. In total, 16 events were held.
  4. Concerts and Master Classes by Renowned Musicians: Our Department of Music invited esteemed musicians from Taiwan and abroad to conduct concerts and master classes, with a total of 9 events.
  5. Annual National Concert: Each year, our Department of Music also holds a grand public performance at a national music hall (the Anniversary Concert), offering free tickets to the general public. This event occurs once per year.
