The Department of Environmental Studies has introduced sustainable development education into local communities, aiming to promote the sustainable tourism resource inventory of the areas surrounding the Xiangshan Wetlands. The initiative also focuses on addressing the needs of the Nanliao community in response to climate change and industrial development trends. This model helps break free from the short-term profit-oriented challenges of community building, co-creating future practical fields, and laying the foundation for regional prosperity. The project aims to expand the influence of local universities through the integration of ESD and ESG, becoming a driving force for urban-rural sustainable development and empowering more resilient communities.

Abstract/Objectives
The Department of Environmental Studies has launched an initiative to promote sustainable development education within local communities, specifically targeting the sustainable tourism resources around the Xiangshan Wetlands. This program aims to address the needs of the Nanliao community in light of climate change and industrial growth, seeking to shift focus from short-term profit to long-term community resilience and development. By co-creating practical solutions, the initiative aims to establish a foundation for regional prosperity. Additionally, it seeks to enhance the influence of local universities by integrating Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, ultimately fostering urban-rural sustainable development and empowering communities to become more resilient.
