According to statistics, the number of trees in the campus is about 11,000, and the green coverage area is about 40 hectares or more. Therefore, the daily campus tree pruning and maintenance operations, the handling of typhoon seasons or emergencies, and the transplanting and removal of trees are performed every year. Will produce a certain amount of waste wood.
Results/Contributions
NTHU cooperates with alumni to provide waste wood produced on campus. Through wood classification, wood processing can be made, such as home decoration, furniture, wood products, etc. The inferior quality wood is carbonized at high temperature to make biochar, which can be used for artistic carbon potted plants , Humidity Control Carbon for Living, Water Filtering Air Carbon and Agricultural Carbon for Planting, etc. In 2021, a total of about 10 tons of campus waste wood will be provided.
