Abstract/Objectives
The course objective is to internalize the concept of Design for X perspectives (DfX) and explore its impacts on product, service and system designs during product life cycle. During this course, the state-of-the-art tools and techniques that have been developed so far will be presented and discussed.
Results/Contributions

At the beginning, students will learn about the design process and concurrent engineering as well as get the big picture of DfXs. In addition, students should consider DfXs while development phase and focus on reviewing relevant papers. What is more, they are going to acquire knowledge about the patterns of how these DfX factors were developed and evolved in recent years. After completion of this course, students are to apply DfXs into the end-of-term project assignment on specific topic, which will be submitted and presented at the conferences.
