Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
The first NTHU Campus as a Living Lab aims to create a sustainable campus environment through a tripartite collaboration among schools, teachers and students, and to implement sustainable education. The project will bring together three stakeholders: the problem generator, the curriculum teacher, and the student team to implement campus sustainability. The first NTHU Campus as a Living Lab, organized by the Regional Innovation Center, will use a project call for proposals, two events, an exhibition, and a workshop to strengthen student sustainability implementation, and to connect project sponsors and program teachers. The main activities of this project are: project solicitation, PuraPharm workshop, and result sharing. Project Call for Papers: Tsinghua students will present their research findings and recommendations on practical problems encountered by the university. PuraPharm workshop: Through the design thinking workshop, students can identify the crux of the problem and propose more solid and effective solutions through design methods. Results Sharing: Through a collaborative exhibition with the Soka Gakkai Taiwan in mid-April and a results sharing session in mid-May, students were able to make their results known and connect with more partners.
Results/Contributions

National Tsing Hua University is committed to sustainable development. In recent years, it has incorporated sustainable development planning in its teaching, research, and campus governance, and has won numerous awards. For example, in the 14th TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards in 2021, Tsinghua ranked first in the overall competition and won the "Taiwan Model Sustainability University Award", and won two awards in the individual competitions: the "Social Inclusion Leadership Award" and the "Gold Award for University Sustainability Report".

In order to further enhance Tsinghua's excellence in sustainable development and to deepen the practice of sustainability on campus, the Regional Innovation Center will hold the First Campus Innovation Living Lab (hereinafter referred to as this project) in February this year. The project aims to create a sustainable campus environment through a tripartite collaboration among schools, teachers and students, and to implement sustainable education.

The April exhibition is co-organized by the Campus as a Living Lab (CLL) at National Tsing Hua University and the Soka Gakkai Taiwan's Seeds of Hope and Action exhibition, which focuses on innovation in sustainable living on campus. The Soka Gakkai Taiwan has long been committed to SDGs, emphasizing the idea of "starting from the heart" and the idea that by sharing ideas and starting with the problems around us, activists can bring about environmental and social change by practicing where they are.

In May, three award-winning teams were selected by the judging panel of each division, namely. The three student teams that won the final awards were: "The Fairy came down to earth to win the championship" for their efforts to realize a sustainable clothing auction platform; "Inter-institutional Innovation Virus is not sustainable" for their design of a touchless button elevator; and "404 I Found" for their design of an incentive system for dormitory electricity use.

In the future, we will continue to promote the collaboration and cooperation between various departments and student teams, so that sustainability is not a one-time activity, but a culture of Tsinghua campus, and the spirit of sustainability can be implemented in the campus life of every student, teacher and staff.
