Abstract/Objectives
Modern slavery including forced labour is a major issue globally. NTHU takes this issue seriously and is committed to eradicating all forms of modern slavery. The university fully complies with government labor-related laws and regulations. The employment of faculty and staff is based on the human rights of equal employment opportunities for all citizens.
Results/Contributions

NTHU's external labor procurement is strictly based on the "Model Labor Procurement Contract", of which Article 8, Paragraph 16 is "Labor Rights Protection", which stipulates that bidding vendors should enter into a written contract with outsourced/posted laborers, including their obligations on labor conditions, prohibition of employment and sex discrimination, prevention and control of sexual harassment, and compliance with the Labor Standards Act, etc. The contract should be examined by NTHU, and any modification of the contract by the vendors should be sent to NTHU as well. If there are any omissions in the labor contract or if it violates the relevant labor laws and regulations, the agency should ask the manufacturer to make corrections.
