Abstract/Objectives
Heterogeneous catalysis is key to the chemical engineering industry and the environment- and energy-related fields. The course aims to introduce the principles and applications of heterogeneous catalysis.
Results/Contributions
Based on the selected textbooks, the course introduces the basic principles and fundamental steps in heterogeneous catalysis and types of reactors. The principles are exemplified mainly by metal catalysts in several industrially important reactions. The relationship of heterogeneous catalysis and sustainable development, especially the dimensions of society and environment, is further discussed.
