The forum successfully provided a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue among graduate students, scholars, and practitioners from Southeast Asia and the Pacific region. It addressed issues such as indigenous land rights, cultural agency, art and commodification, applications of new media, development and migration, as well as the relationship between indigenous peoples and nation-states. In addition to focusing on the development of theoretical and analytical frameworks, the forum is dedicated to strengthening research capabilities and promoting collaborative and interdisciplinary indigenous research methods. From the forum, it is evident that research on indigenous issues not only requires interdisciplinary perspectives but also the participation and leadership of indigenous peoples themselves. By deepening academic discussions, enhancing the capabilities of indigenous research, and promoting culturally sensitive policy recommendations, the forum provides a platform for ongoing knowledge exchange. In the future, the forum will continue to expand transnational dialogue, deepen understanding of indigenous peoples in Southeast Asia and the Pacific, and facilitate connections between policy, social practice, and academic research.
