Abstract/Objectives
Heterogeneous catalysis is the key to the chemical engineering industry, environment- and energy-related fields. This course aims to introduce the principles and applications of heterogeneous catalysis.
Results/Contributions
On the basis of textbooks, the course introduces the basic principles and fundamental steps involved in heterogeneous catalysis and the types of reactors. The principles are exemplified mainly by metal catalysts in several reactions which are important to industry. The relationship of heterogeneous catalysis and sustainable development, especially including the social and environmental aspects, is going to be the topic of discussions during the classes.
