Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
The new coronavirus (COVID-19) is an infectious disease that causes respiratory diseases, and the epidemic spreads rapidly around the world. The WHO classifies the outbreak of this disease as a public health emergency, and how to quickly screen is an important issue. Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) is a commonly used method for clinical testing [1]. But this method is time-consuming and expensive. therefore. We use electric double-layer field-effect transistor (FET) biosensors. The purpose of practicing rapid screening for COVID-19 is to establish a rapid, convenient and economical testing platform. The detection method is to place the patient’s saliva sample on the sensor chip. When the virus’s nucleocapsid protein specifically binds to the antibody, the platform can detect changes in electrical signals. The sustainable development goal includes 17 goals, of which Goal 3 is to ensure health and promote the well-being of all age groups. Health is the basic right of a person to be born. However, in today's society, the allocation of resources for treatment is uneven, and people in rural areas seek medical treatment. It often requires higher transportation and time costs. Facing the new coronavirus that broke out at the end of 2019. We need fast and accurate detection. Therefore, we have proposed a portable COVID-19 detection device, which is portable, easy to operate, and has a short detection time. Once no professional medical personnel are required, the general public can operate it by themselves. The portable detection device not only saves time, but also reduces the medical burden. It can be tested without going to a large hospital, realizing the concept of a mobile clinic.
