Abstract/Objectives
This course provides an overview of the theoretical foundation of art therapy, teaching basic techniques using different mediums like painting and sand play. It emphasizes the use of psychoanalysis and includes case studies related to conditions such as autism, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and sexual assault trauma. Additionally, the course covers research related to these topics.
Results/Contributions

This course will introduce the general theoretical background of art therapy, including basic methods and procedures for using various media such as painting, sandplay, and other expressive therapies. It will focus on psychoanalysis, supplemented by relevant case studies such as autism, schizophrenia, OCD, depression, and trauma from sexual abuse.The course begins with an overview of expressive art therapy, leading students to understand the psychoanalytic aspects of art therapy. It then systematically introduces various art therapy methods, including sandplay therapy, mandala therapy, storytelling and fairy tale therapy, art therapy for trauma and grief, art therapy for autism and ADHD, and others.Throughout the course, in addition to theoretical and case study teaching, there will also be art therapist's practical sharing sessions and related experiential activities interspersed.
