Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
This service-learning course has eight service projects with three course objectives—
1. Sustainable life: The course design is based on the aspect of life and actual participation to understand the aspect, operability and development direction of sustainability. These understandings and experiences are not only brought into life experience, but also combined with the study of professional subjects. The field should try to choose the campus and its surrounding area, increase the frequency of operations, in order to deepen the life experience. It is hoped that these service programs can ultimately have an impact on lifestyle choices, such as reducing plastic use, using environmentally friendly products as much as possible, and using natural or organic food.
2. Maker education: Maker education is the key to serving the society through self-practice. Maker education brings about changes in the traditional teacher-student relationship, enabling students to become active learning partners rather than just passive recipients of knowledge, thereby shaping the new generation of self-learning to serve the society. "Imagination" is the source of creativity, and "service" is the creation of new possibilities. Every student may be an opportunity to influence Taiwan's future. Only by building a maker environment that encourages open learning can the endless creativity become the core force driving the future to serve the society and improve the society.
3. Social care: Students will understand the specific groups in need of help in Taiwan society through practical contact, first to get rid of the original ignorance and fear, to see the more diverse face of this society, and also to serve these people, learn from the stories and stories of others. In my life, I see that this society is not perfect, that it fails to treat each individual fairly and justly, and then reflects on the connection between myself and others in the society, my own value and further contributions that can be made.
