Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
This project aims to explore how different societal roles—including government, schools, businesses, and individuals— exert influence in everyday life to promote sustainable development. In particular, it examines how businesses integrate sustainability into their operational philosophy and put it into practice, thereby fulfilling their corporate social responsibility (CSR). The project focuses on the role of public relations in sustainable communication, conducting an in-depth analysis of how a sustainability-focused PR company leverages public relations strategies to advance sustainability and shape public perception. The research process includes participating in sustainability forums jointly organized by multiple schools and various industries, interviewing one PR company, and ultimately producing a short film to comprehensively present the research findings.
Results/Contributions

After participating in sustainability communication-related events such as the CSR Communication Forum hosted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the 10th International Conference on Sustainability Trends 2024, and the Fu Jen Catholic University Industry-Academia Forum and SDGs Results Exhibition, this project gathered speech summaries and compiled personal reflections, ultimately resulting in a 20-page report.

To create the final video outcome, the project conducted interviews with university students on their thoughts and imaginations about the concept of sustainability. Various responses were collected, addressing different perspectives on sustainable development, generational legacy, and the connection between land and natural resources, showcasing the younger generation's vision and diverse viewpoints on sustainability.

In addition, in a one-on-one interview with the deputy manager of VEDA Company, I delved into how public relations companies serve as a crucial bridge between businesses and stakeholders, leveraging their unique strengths to help companies identify and address pain points and gaps in their sustainability strategies. The video specifically highlights the interviewee's discussion of a digital accountability initiative in collaboration with Line Corporation, emphasizing how the program plays a key role in combating misinformation and implementing effective corporate social responsibility.

Ultimately, the project demonstrates that individuals, governments, schools, and businesses of all sizes can contribute to sustainability efforts, such as regularly organizing forums to share achievements, fostering collaboration between different stakeholders, building strong partnerships, and showcasing how excellent public relations firms act as key advisors in

helping businesses improve strategies while addressing societal needs.
