Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
In the 21st century, humanity is facing the crisis of epidemics, climate change (extreme climate), the decline of life-sustaining ecosystems, food security, and the reduction of freshwater storage. Researches pointed out that if these problems come simultaneously, a catastrophe of global system collapse may occur. The global spread of COVID-19 would be the latest manifestation of the deterioration of the relationship between man and the earth. In indigenous areas that are initially vulnerable to diseases due to social inequality, the entangle of COVID-19 and climate disasters had become a syndemic. This project focuses on indigenous communities that develop tourism, discussing social solidarity, cultural support, and food security resilience under the pandemic.
