Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
Due to the impact of the pandemic, many students in rural Malaysia are facing the problem of "digital disengagement." This could be attributed to factors such as lack of Internet connectivity or access to technological learning tools, resulting in numerous students gradually falling behind in their studies. Furthermore, unequal resource allocation by the Malaysian government has deprived many Chinese high schools of equal educational resources, severely affecting the educational rights. Recognizing this pressing need, we have collaborated with independent Chinese schools in Malaysia to implement a digital tutoring service program aimed at reducing the digital learning gap and achieving equity in educational resources. Through the creation of recorded digital video courses, we aim to mitigate the unequal distribution of educational resources.
Results/Contributions (500 words)

After contacting Chinese schools and confirming their needs, we developed lesson plans tailored to the requirements of local students and recorded instructional videos. These videos serve not only as self-paced learning materials for students but also as teaching resources for local school teachers. In total, we produced 32 instructional videos covering various topics, including language learning (Chinese, English, French), literary analysis, handicrafts, career planning, and critical thinking on various issues. In addition to uploading these videos to the free online video platform YouTube, we also sent them to schools with limited internet access. Both students and teachers’ sides have responded positively, viewing the efforts of Taiwanese college students in sharing their knowledge and skills as exemplary and worthy of emulation.
