Immunology and Disease Pathogenesis
Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
Our immune system protects us with different lines of defense. However, suppose that the immune system does not function correctly and becomes too weak or too strong. In that case, it can lead to disease states that include immunodeficiencies that lead to enhanced susceptibility to infectious disease, autoimmune conditions, such as lupus and arthritis, and even cancer.
Results/Contributions
The format is a seminar series with weekly lectures focusing on current basic immunology research and how it is translated into immunotherapies and
clinical trials. Topics include hematopoiesis, transplantation, tolerance, immune monitoring, vaccination, autoimmunity and antibodies, rheumatoid arthritis,
chronicinflammatory disease, and allergy.
Keywords
Autoimmune disease, Allergy, Immunodeficiency、cytokine release syndrome (CRS) , Tumor immunity
