Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
Rice is an important food crop for mankind and one of the three main staple foods in the world. The amount of rice consumed every day in the world is huge. According to the statistics of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the output of rice is increasing year by year. In 2018, the output of rice has grown to 700 million tons. Such a high output will inevitably lead to a huge amount of waste rice husk, and the disposal of these wastes is undoubtedly a big problem. In this study, rice husks and another common agricultural waste in daily life are converted into energy-efficient Silicon-carbon composite electrode materials and the generation of waste is greatly reduced through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse. Through special synthesis and processing procedures, not only can the economic value be found for these wastes, but also the burden on the environment can be reduced, and the goal of sustainable consumption and production can be achieved.
