1. College of Sustainability

To promote sustainability education more systematically, Tsinghua University began preparations for the "College of Sustainability" in 2022, which was officially approved by the Ministry of Education in August 2024. The College has a "Net-Zero Governance and Talent Development Center," responsible for promoting the "Net-Zero Green Collar Talent Cultivation Center" project of the Ministry of Environment and the National Environmental Research Institute. This center conducts on-campus and off-campus sustainability education promotion, carbon inventory practical training, net-zero transition capacity building courses and certification planning, and deepens the connection between university operations and industry practice. Currently, the "College of Sustainability" offers a "Master of Science in Sustainability Technology Program" and an "Institute for Sustainable Management and Climate Policy" to cultivate interdisciplinary professionals in sustainable development.

(2)Sustainability Core Curriculum II: Energy Technology and Sustainable Society Credit Program

Since the Industrial Revolution, with machines replacing human labor, the energy supply has become an indispensable element for the operation of an economy and society. Energy consumption and a country's economic growth are often directly proportional. The development and use of energy also cause environmental damage and pollution. Furthermore, some energy resources stored on Earth, such as coal, oil, and natural gas, will eventually be depleted. To address future energy shortages, seeking alternative energy sources, developing energy-saving equipment, and protecting the ecological environment are crucial issues for sustainable development.
