The team introduced Taiwan’s important festivals and the customs and beliefs in daily life in a progressive manner during the Cultural Activity, guiding local students to understand the cultural diversity of Taiwan’s society. The course also incorporated the distinctive foods from various regions of Taiwan, arranging simple tasting and interactive activities that allowed Tanzanian students to experience the warmth of Taiwanese culture and lifestyle through multiple senses such as sight and taste, and to appreciate the cultural significance embedded in the cuisine. Among the most distinctive activities was the calligraphy class, where students personally wrote Spring Festival couplets and auspicious phrases, gaining firsthand experience of the early rural life of the Han people and the traditions of the Lunar New Year, while further understanding the symbolic value of the couplets in terms of blessing, warding off evil, and fostering family bonds. To enhance the effectiveness of communication, the course was conducted in various ways, including cultural explanations, hands-on experiences, and film viewing, encouraging students to participate and express themselves. Through these lively and diverse interactions, students from both sides built friendships while understanding each other's cultures, broadened their international perspectives, and found resonance and inspiration in cultural exchanges, fostering an attitude of respecting diversity and appreciating differences.
