1.Following NTHU environmental protection and occupational safety and health management policies, we will continue to promote various sustainable development programs on campus, including initiatives for campus biodiversity, responsible dining service consumption, green procurement, energy saving and carbon reduction, and resource recycling and reuse, all aimed at creating a green campus.
2.Annually organize informational sessions on campus resource recycling and reducing the use of disposable items, inviting various campus departments to participate, to continuously promote waste reduction at the source and recycling efforts.
3.Collaborate with relevant authorities to implement various source reduction measures and activities to minimize the use of disposable items on campus.
4.General waste: The waste is sent to the Hsinchu City Incineration Plant for treatment. The plant uses a 24-hour continuous operation mechanical mixed combustion furnace for incineration. The plant also uses a cogeneration system to generate electricity and recover waste heat. The plant generates 24,000 watts of electricity, which means each ton of waste can generate approximately 400 degrees of electricity.
5.Resource Recycling and Reuse:
(1) Waste Sorting: Waste is sorted into "recyclable" and "non-recyclable" categories for processing.
(2) Resource Recycling: Various recycling bins are set up for items such as paper, tin cans, aluminum foil, plastic bottles, paper takeout boxes, and paper cups, which are collected by a waste management company to reduce resource waste.
6.From 2013 to 2024, the annual municipal solid waste generated per capita decreased from 0.31 to 0.15.
