Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
Brown root rot disease can cause root rot, leading to tree withering and death. The disease is also difficult to be identified via the appearance, so that trees might fall and cause potential damages or casualty in strong wind or heavy rain.In 2019 and 2020, the budget for brown root rot disease prevention is NT$ 2.4 million for each year in NTHU.
Results/Contributions
NTHU conducted the health inspection and risk assessment for trees on the sidewalks of main roads, trails, and parking lots on campus in March, 2020. According to the inspection results, 26 trees were diagnosed having brown root rot disease, seven is rotten on the top of trees, and 46 trees are adjacent to brown root rot disease trees. NTHU has been making budget yearly for brown root rot disease prevention and control to maintain the health of trees on campus and the sustainable development of ecology.
