Abstract/Objectives

This activity teaches participants how to repurpose discarded plastic bags into functional lighting works, blending practicality with aesthetics. Instructors demonstrate techniques to transform plastic bags into ropes, reducing waste while highlighting the material's resilience and versatility. Through hands-on instruction, participants learn about the possibilities of recycling, converting what was once considered waste into useful items. They complete uniquely designed lighting creations that carry environmental significance, showcasing the creativity involved in reusing materials. Overall, the activity enriches participants’ understanding of plastic waste and sustainability, encouraging them to incorporate environmental concepts into their daily lives and empowering them to tackle environmental challenges through creative actions.

This activity guides participants to transform common discarded plastic bags from daily life into lighting works that combine practicality and aesthetics. During the event, instructors teach participants the technique of processing plastic bags into plastic ropes, which not only effectively reduces the volume of plastic waste, achieving waste reduction goals, but also allows them to recognize the good resilience and diverse application potential of the material.

 

Through a hands-on and instructional approach, we lead participants to understand the possibilities of material recycling and have them personally convert what was once considered waste (plastic bags) into functional everyday items. Ultimately, the participants successfully completed uniquely designed lighting works that carry environmental significance, showcasing the creativity and value of reusing recycled materials.

 

This activity not only enhances participants' understanding of plastic waste and sustainability issues but also encourages them to implement environmental concepts in their daily lives, further cultivating their ability to respond to environmental challenges through creative actions.
