Abstract/Objectives
The course first introduces the evolution, significance and characteristics, models and classifications of big data analysis, as well as the advantages of its application in agriculture, fishery, industry, commerce, urban transportation, health care and other fields. The course also explores how modern enterprises create competitiveness through big data analysis. Secondly, open-source software is introduced to conduct graphical/visual data analysis, accompanied by case studies and practical exercises. Students will be familiar with using software to perform algorithms such as regression analysis and classification analysis. The course does not involve coding. In the process, big data analysis is connected to machine learning algorithms. Overall, the course shows that big data analysis is a part of artificial intelligence.
Results/Contributions
1. Students understand the concept, definition, evolution, application, and value creation of big data
2. Students become familiar with open source data analysis tools and software
3. Students learn to use mathematics, statistics and data science methods to analyze, model and make predictions on research topics
4. Students from various fields have the ability to combine management thinking, computational thinking and logical analysis, and improve the aesthetic design ability of presentations
