Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
New biotechnologies in fields of molecular and cellular biology have been progressed fast recently. Graduate and undergraduate students are constantly facing challenges to understand the underlying mechanisms of these new technologies and to incorporate these new technologies into their own research interests. Taking COVID-19 as an example. This pandemic outbreak not only cause devastating diseases that cause millions of deaths, but also foster the development of new technologies in order to boost the production of vaccines and drugs for COVID-19. For example, mRNA vaccine and pseudovirus production bring new insights for virologists to further understand the nature of this new coronavirus. This course aims to provide fundamental knowledge in experimental techniques in the field of molecular and cell biology. Each lecture will focus on one or two specific experimental approaches and provide with background information and implications.
Results/Contributions

1. Most students enrolled in this lecture are graduate students of master or PhD. We also accept 4th year undergraduate students who will be taking graduate student courses for advanced training.

2. The main goal of these students is to have the chance to explore novel molecular and cellular biotechnologies. These new technologies not only provide new concepts for their own research, but also contribute to their career development.

3.A total of 65 students were enrolled in this lecture in past 4 years.
