Water Re-use Policy for the University
I. Policy Overview: Following the university's Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety and Health Management Policy, we will continue to implement various sustainable development programs to create a green campus.
II. Response to Water Scarcity: In response to global climate change and Taiwan's water conditions, the university will continue to monitor and manage water usage in campus facilities, promoting efficient and responsible water consumption.
III. Water Recycling and Usage: To reduce water consumption, the water used in swimming pools will be recycled for seasonal maintenance purposes, such as watering lawns in athletic fields. Additionally, the water bodies on campus will be utilized for the irrigation of plants around Meiyuan and Chenggong Lake.
IV. Green Building Standards: Buildings constructed on campus after the year 2000 are certified as green buildings, meeting standards for the reuse of rainwater from rooftops, which is used for plant irrigation and toilet flushing.
V. Energy and Water Saving Committee: The university holds an annual Energy Saving Committee meeting to review the progress of ongoing water and energy-saving initiatives. Designated staff members will act as energy and water-saving managers to oversee water and energy conservation efforts across campus buildings and departments.
VI. Sustainable Procurement: To ensure the sustainable use of resources, the university prioritizes the procurement of environmentally friendly products with eco-labels.
VII. Water Conservation Promotion: Continuous education and promotion of water-saving practices will be carried out throughout the campus.
