Abstract/Objectives
Mosquitoes, considered the most dangerous creatures in the world, are becoming a growing problem as a vector mosquito as global warming increases. The government's control method is to reduce the number of mosquitoes by spraying and culling. However, large-scale spraying of pesticides not only negatively affects our bodies or other organisms, but the vector mosquitoes have developed resistance to the commonly used anti-mosquito drugs. This all shows that the vector mosquito problem urgently needs a more effective solution. In view of this, MosAuto hopes to reduce the number of vector mosquitoes in the environment by using mosquito control methods, so that people will no longer be afraid of being in a dengue fever epidemic area, and make Taiwan a safe and mosquito-free home.
Results/Contributions

First of all, the bacteria we use to sterilize mosquitoes is a symbiotic bacteria-Wolbachia that is widely present in insects, such as fruit flies, bees, butterflies, etc., and it is also a legal biological agent in Taiwan. The sterilized mosquitoes have been certified by the half-field release experiment, which can suppress the number of mosquitoes by more than 70%, and its effect is very good. In the software and instrument part, we use our unique mosquito image database to complete a set of high-accuracy identification software (Mos Sorter) with a recognition speed of 0.14 seconds per sheet. In the future, combined with automation, it can greatly reduce labor costs and enable This biological control method can really be applied to epidemic prevention. Furthermore, we have also reached cooperation with the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Mosquito-borne Infectious Diseases, and will jointly promote this biological control method in the future. We are also very grateful to the Ustart Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program of the Ministry of Education and the FITI Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incentive Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology for their recognition. We at MosAuto will continue to work towards the goal of "mosquito-free home".
