Results/Contributions (500 words)
In this event, we participated in Hsinchu City's first LGBTQ Pride Parade. Through our booth setup and participation in the parade, we successfully raised the visibility of gender issues in the Hsinchu area and strengthened support and connections within the local community.
First, our organization collaborated with the event organizers to host interactive activities at our booth, designing a series of quiz activities to convey knowledge about gender equality in an entertaining way. Ultimately, we engaged with people of all ages during the event, successfully advocating the concept of gender equality to many who were previously unfamiliar with it. In addition, we prepared various products and promotional flyers at our booth, among which several sticker designs inspired by different rainbow flags successfully attracted many younger attendees, also encouraging parents to approach the booth and learn about our advocacy efforts.
Secondly, we joined the afternoon parade that traversed the entire Hsinchu city area, allowing us to reach a wider audience and expand our visibility. During the event, we marched alongside other gender organizations from our school, fostering communication among ourselves. Furthermore, we encountered Mr. Chi Chia-wei, a pioneer of the LGBTQ movement in Taiwan, and had the opportunity to converse and take photos with him.
This event marks a milestone in promoting Hsinchu as a gender-friendly city, and it successfully established effective collaborative relationships among advocacy partners.
