Abstract/Objectives
This speech explores Language Assessment Literacy (LAL) with a focus on the assessment needs and challenges of Taiwanese CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) teachers. We will analyze current teachers’ assessment knowledge and practices while identifying key concepts they need to learn and relearn. Understanding core LAL concepts to enhance teachers' assessment literacy in bilingual education. Analyzing the assessment needs of CLIL teachers, identifying strengths and gaps in their existing knowledge. Exploring effective assessment strategies and tools to help teachers design appropriate language and content assessments. This course is designed for bilingual educators and those interested in language assessment, equipping them with essential skills to improve teaching effectiveness.
Results/Contributions

This course provides participants with an in-depth understanding of Language Assessment Literacy (LAL), focusing on the needs and challenges of Taiwanese CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) teachers. Through lectures and discussions, participants achieve the following outcomes:

Understand core LAL concepts, including fundamental principles of language and content assessment in bilingual education.

Analyze and reflect on their own assessment knowledge and practices, identifying areas for improvement to enhance assessment effectiveness.

Learn appropriate assessment strategies and tools, enabling them to design effective assessments tailored to CLIL instruction.

Develop critical thinking skills in language assessment, allowing them to select and apply various assessment methods to improve student learning outcomes.

This course not only deepens participants' theoretical understanding of assessment but also equips them with practical skills to enhance bilingual education quality.
