Abstract/Objectives

This course is for advanced oil painting creation. The course content includes: 1. Nude painting practice. 2.The principal-and-subordinate relationship between figure and brushwork. 3.The expressiveness of color and brushstrokes. 4.Spatial processing of thematic schema and structural schema. 5. Transformation from figuration to abstraction.

Results/Contributions

Students can deepen their understanding and practical judgment of oil painting techniques, learn the aesthetic differences between traditional and modern and contemporary oil painting, and begin to master the characteristics of different spatial schemata to warm up for independent creation in senior grades. The end-of-term results are the completion of six works.
