Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
According to statistics from the NTHU Campus Police, approximately 2,000 abandoned bicycles are collected on campus each year. This project aims to address the issue of abandoned bicycles on campus by organizing workshops that promote the concept of "abandoned bicycle repairs." Additionally, charity events such as donating refurbished bicycles to underprivileged students in remote areas will be conducted. The project also intends to facilitate an online conference among bicycle clubs to foster idea exchange and discuss solutions related to abandoned bicycles and their refurbishment for charitable purposes. A website will be developed to promote the concept of sustainability.
Results/Contributions

Objectives:

  1. Offer affordable bicycle repair services for students.
  2. Conduct informative workshops on bicycle maintenance to enhance the sustainability of these products.
  3. The first workshop organized by the project received overwhelming response, surpassing the participant limit.

Given that bicycle components are not entirely recyclable, promoting the idea of sustainability entails emphasizing regular repairs and maintenance. By extending the service life of bicycles, the project aims to reduce the need for manufacturing new bicycles.
